Hastelloy alloy C22 (N06022), material number 2.6402, is a nickel-based high-temperature alloy composed of nickel, molybdenum, cobalt, tungsten and other elements, with a nickel content of approximately 60%. It is an all-around nickel-chromium-molybdenum-tungsten alloy with better overall corrosion resistance than other existing nickel-chromium-molybdenum alloys, including Hastelloy C276, Alloy C4 and Alloy 625. Hastelloy C22 alloy has good resistance to pitting corrosion, crack corrosion and stress corrosion cracking. Mixed acids containing wet chlorine, nitric acid or oxidizing acids with chloride ions have excellent antioxidant properties in aqueous media. The ability to resist the reducing and oxidizing environments encountered during the process is also ideal, and tungsten further improves its corrosion resistance. It is one of the few materials resistant to corrosion from moist chlorine, hypochlorite and chlorine dioxide solutions whose high molybdenum and chromium content make the alloy resistant to chloride ion corrosion. The alloy has significant corrosion resistance to highly concentrated chloride salt solutions such as ferric chloride and copper chloride
