Refer Stainless Steel Pipe Weight Formula
Weight (kg/m) = (OD − WT) × WT × 0.02491
OD = Outside Diameter (mm)
WT = Wall Thickness (mm)
0.02491 = Density factor (based on 304 stainless steel density ~7.93 g/cm³)
Example:
For a 304 stainless steel pipe with:
OD = 60.3 mm
WT = 3.91 mm
Weight = (60.3 − 3.91) × 3.91 × 0.02491 ≈ 5.49 kg/m

Quality Inspection
Spectroscopic Analysis (PMI/Spectrometer): Utilizes handheld or benchtop spectrometers.
Tensile Test: Measures tensile strength, yield strength, and elongation.
Hardness Test: Commonly employs Rockwell (HRC/HRB), Brinell (HB), or Vickers (HV) hardness testing.
Flattening Test: Flattens the tubing to a specified distance to check for cracks in the weld seam or base material.
Flaring Test: Expands the tube opening to a specified percentage to check for cracks along the rim.
Bending Test: Performed on small-diameter tubing to assess its flexibility.
Hydrostatic Test: Every fluid-carrying tube must undergo either a Hydrostatic Test or a pneumatic leak test.
Eddy Current Testing (ET): Detects minute cracks on the surface and in the near-surface zone.
Ultrasonic Testing (UT): Detects inclusions and laminations within the tube wall.

304, 316, 310S Stainless Steel Pipe Manufacturer
We supply stainless steel pipes in compliance with international standards such as ASTM A312, A213, A269, and EN 10216-5. Our products are certified with ISO 9001, PED (Pressure Equipment Directive), and CE, ensuring full compliance in global markets.
In addition, customers do not need to perform on-site cutting. We provide value-added processing services such as fixed length cutting, beveling, and drilling, helping reduce on-site workload and minimize material waste during installation.
Stock Availability: 3–7 working days.
For commonly used international standard specifications (such as ASTM A312, Sch 10S/40S/80S), GNEE maintains a large inventory:
304/304L: Largest stock volume available. Lifting and loading can be arranged on the same day, with export packing completed within 3 days and shipment to port.
316/316L: Standard sizes (1/2" to 12") are readily available in stock, with shipment preparation completed within 5 days.
310S: Regular industrial sizes (commonly used for heat-resistant boilers and heat exchangers) are kept in stock and can be shipped within 7 days.

High-Quality Sea Freight Packaging and Transport
End Protection: All pipes are supplied with plastic caps on both ends as standard.
Depending on pipe diameter, wall thickness, and transportation distance, GNEE provides the following packaging options:
A. Bundled Packing
Application: Large quantities and medium-to-large diameter industrial pipes.
Details: Pipes are tightly arranged in hexagonal or circular bundles and securely fastened with steel strips. Protective materials such as cardboard or plastic strips are placed at strapping points to prevent surface damage.
B. Wooden Case / Crate Packing
Application: Thin-walled pipes, small-diameter precision tubes, high-grade alloy pipes (such as 310S, 2205), or polished tubes.
Details: Fumigated wooden cases compliant with international standards are used. The interior is filled with foam or equipped with support frames to prevent movement during transportation.
C. Woven Bag Wrapping
Application: Bundled pipes requiring additional protection against dust and salt spray.
Details: Based on bundled packing, an outer layer of waterproof woven fabric or wrapping is applied to provide secondary physical protection.

FAQ
Q:What is the difference between 304 and 316 stainless steel pipes?
Q: What is "Schedule" (e.g., Sch 40, Sch 80)?
Q:Can stainless steel pipes be welded?
Q: Q: What is the difference between stainless steel seamless pipes and stainless steel welded pipes?
Q: Are stainless steel pipes suitable for cryogenic or low temperature environments?
Q: What does the L after the stainless steel type mean?
The "L" indicates that the stainless steel alloy has a reduced carbon content compared to the standard grade. Low carbon stainless steel offers several benefits: improved weldability, reduced corrosion susceptibility, and maintained corrosion resistance.
While L-grade stainless steels offer enhanced corrosion resistance and weldability, they may cost slightly more than non-L-grade stainless steels.
Q: What is stainless steel pipe used for?
Q: Is stainless steel pipe rust-proof?
A: Stainless steel pipes are highly corrosion-resistant but not completely rust-proof. In harsh chloride or acidic environments, proper grade selection (like 316L) is essential.
Q: Do we need to maintain stainless steel pipes regularly?
Q: What forms do you have of stainless steel?
Gnee Steel (Tianjin) Co., Ltd. is well-known as one of the leading stainless steel pipe manufacturers and suppliers in China. Our factory offers customized stainless steel pipe made in China with competitive price. Welcome to contact us for wholesale service.
