Non-oriented silicon steels: ferrosilicon alloy with very low carbon content. In the deformed and annealed steels sheet, its grains are distributed randomly. The silicon content of the alloy is 1.5% to 3.0%, or the sum of the silicon and aluminum content is 1.8% to 4.0%. The products are usually cold-rolled plates or strips, which are mainly used to manufacture motors and generators.

Oriented silicon steels: It has strong directionality, the lowest iron loss value in the rolling direction, the highest magnetic permeability, and a higher magnetic induction value under a certain magnetization field. The silicon content of oriented silicon steel is about 3%. It also requires a low content of oxide inclusions in the steel and must contain certain inhibitors (MnS, A1N).

Cold rolled non oriented silicon steel

Silicon steel with silicon content of 1.0 ~ 4.5% and carbon content less than 0.08% are called non oriented silicon steels. It has the characteristics of high permeability, low coercivity and high resistivity, so the hysteresis loss and eddy current loss are small.Mainly used as magnetic materials in motors, transformers, electrical appliances and electrical instruments. In order to meet the needs of punching and shearing, certain plasticity is required. In order to improve the magnetic inductive energy and reduce the hysteresis loss, the harmful impurity content should be as low as possible, and the plate type should be flat and the surface quality should be good.
