ASTM 440A Stainless Steel Coil
Type 440A Stainless Steel in coils and cut lengths in thicknesses 0.1mm up and widths up to and including 250mm.440A stainless High-carbon chromium steel. Provides stainless properties with excellent hardness.Attains a hardness of Rockwell C 56 and maximum toughness when heat-treated.440A is a high carbon martensitic stainless steel, this alloy can be heat treated to extremely high hardnesses.It has slightly less carbon than 440B and 440C giving it better machinability but less hardness.The combination of good wear resistance and high hardness makes this alloy an excellent candidate for cutting tools and knife blades.It also is often used for dental and surgical equipment.
Once the stainless steel coils are processed and finished, they can be slit into narrower strips of desired widths using slitting machines. Slitting allows for greater customization and flexibility in meeting specific customer requirements. The narrower strips can then be recoiled into compact coils for ease of handling, transportation, and storage.
