The main alloying elements in 904L stainless steel coil include chromium (Cr), nickel (Ni), and molybdenum (Mo). It typically contains around 19 - 23% chromium, which provides excellent resistance to oxidation and forms a passive oxide layer on the surface. The nickel content is approximately 23 - 28%, which enhances the material's resistance to corrosion in a wide range of environments, including acidic and alkaline conditions. Molybdenum is present at around 4 - 5% and helps in improving resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion.It also contains small amounts of other elements such as copper (Cu), which further contributes to its corrosion - resistant properties, especially in sulfur - containing environments.

904L stainless steel coil has good tensile strength. The minimum yield strength is usually around 215 MPa, and the tensile strength can reach up to around 490 MPa. These mechanical properties make it suitable for applications where the material needs to withstand mechanical loads, such as in the construction of pressure vessels and piping systems.
