The tubes in this grade are generally manufactured in seamless, welded, or erw configuration. Stainless Steel 316L Seamless Tube is produced via an extrusion process as hot steel billets are passed through metal to precisely shape the modules. These tubes have outstanding load-bearing capacity but are expensive compared to the UNS S31603 Welded Tubing due to the material used while producing them. A welded tube is produced by rolling sheets or strips followed by welding them in place, making use of standard welding procedures.
