434 stainless steel pipe is a kind of stainless steel, which is implemented in AISI and ASTM. The UNS number is S43400, corresponding to ASTM A269/A249 standard.
ASTM A269 434 seamless pipe has excellent performance in seawater desalination, chemical equipment and other scenarios, with a pitting resistance equivalent (PREN) of more than 25, which can effectively resist the erosion of Cl⁻.

What is the difference between 434 and 304/316L stainless steel pipes?
Corrosion resistance:
304 (Cr18Ni8): resistant to conventional corrosion, but not resistant to chloride ions;
316L (Cr17Ni12Mo2): better than 304 in pitting corrosion resistance, but lower in molybdenum content than 434;
434: performs better in chloride ion environments (such as seawater and salt spray), with a pitting resistance equivalent value (PREN) of about 25-30.
Strength:
The yield strength (about 275MPa) is higher than 304 (205MPa), but lower than 316L (220MPa).
Magnetism: 434 is a ferritic stainless steel with magnetism; 304/316L is austenitic and non-magnetic.
