API Liquid Stainless Seamless Steel Pipe
The production of seamless pipes starts with a solid round billet. The billet is first heated to a suitable temperature range, usually above the recrystallization temperature of the steel. Then, it is pierced through the center using a piercing mandrel to create a hollow shell. This hollow shell is then further elongated and sized through a series of rolling processes. The rolling can be either hot - rolling or cold - rolling, depending on the desired final dimensions and mechanical properties. Hot - rolling is used to initially shape the pipe and reduce its diameter and wall thickness to a certain extent. Cold - rolling, if applied, is mainly for achieving more precise dimensional control and improving the surface finish.

Grade 31weiler - 6 stainless steel, in addition to chromium and nickel, contains molybdenum (Mo), usually around 2 - 3%. The presence of molybdenum significantly improves the resistance to pitting and crevice corrosion, making it more suitable for handling corrosive liquids such as seawater and certain chemicals.
