Description
ASTM A213 TP317/317L is a specification for molybdenum-containing austenitic stainless steel seamless pipes, suitable for high-temperature applications such as boilers, superheaters, and heat exchangers. TP317L has a lower carbon content than TP317, providing better weldability and resistance to sensitization.
ASTM A213 TP317/317L seamless stainless steel pipes are high-molybdenum austenitic stainless steel pipes. Their chemical composition includes 18–20% chromium, 11–15% nickel, 3–4% molybdenum, and strictly controlled carbon content (≤0.03%) to enhance resistance to intergranular corrosion. Through solution annealing (1010–1150°C), their mechanical properties are optimized. The international standard corresponds to the Chinese grade 00Cr19Ni13Mo3 (GB/T 20878), with a pitting resistance equivalent number (PREN) ≥40, significantly surpassing conventional 316L stainless steel.
