304L stainless steel pipe is a hollow long round steel. Type 304L is an extra low-carbon variation of Type 304 with a 0.03% maximum carbon content that eliminates carbide precipitation due to welding. It is defined as a Chromium-Nickel austenitic alloy. In addition to acting like an austenite stabilizer, nitrogen also improves its yield strength as well as pitting resistance of the Stainless Steel 304L Instrumentation Tubes. This alloy can be used in the ”as-welded“ condition, even in severe corrosive conditions. 304L stainless commercial tubing grades exhibit good machinability and have excellent weld-ability characteristics with or without the addition of filler metals.
