ASTM A268 TP443 stainless steel welded pipe improves its corrosion resistance by increasing chromium, reducing carbon and adding titanium. Titanium preferentially forms a stable compound with carbon, inhibits the combination of carbon and chromium in stainless steel, and improves pitting resistance and thermal stability.
Welding
Successfully welded by common fusion and resistance methods, this alloy should not be joined by oxyacetylene welding. AWS E/ER630 filler metal is recommended if required.
