ASTM A270 covers seamless, welded, and heavily cold-worked austenitic and ferritic/austenitic stainless steel sanitary tubing.
GNEE provides ASME SA270 TP316 seamless steel pipes. The production process of seamless pipes must not involve any welding and is suitable for high-pressure and high-temperature environments. SA270 TP316 welded pipes shall be manufactured using automated welding processes without the addition of any filler metal. SA270 TP316 cold-worked pipes are produced by cold-working welded pipes before the final annealing process, reducing the wall thickness and weld thickness by at least 35%. No filler material shall be used during the welding process. All materials shall be supplied in the heat-treated condition.

We offer TP316L sanitary stainless steel tubing conforming to ASTM A270 standards, primarily used in the baking, beverage, cosmetics, dairy, food, and pharmaceutical industries. The inner and/or outer diameters are typically mechanically or electrolytically polished. The polished stainless steel tubing meets or exceeds 3-A standards, with an inner diameter polishing degree of 20 Ra and an outer diameter polishing degree of 150 mesh or 32 Ra. The smooth surface prevents the accumulation of dirt and bacteria, ensuring hygiene and safety during use.

What is the difference between ASTM A269 and A270?
Full tensile and hardness testing is standard, as are flattening, flange and reverse bend. A269 requires no tensile testing, but does require hardness tests, plus flange, reverse flattening. A270 requires a reverse flattening test only.
