ASTM A358 TP316L Stainless Steel Pickled And Annealed Welded Pipe

ASTM A358/ASME SA358 specification covers electric fusion-welded austenitic chromium-nickel stainless steel pipes for industrial applications such as the transportation of high-temperature, high-pressure corrosive media, food-grade sanitary environments, and marine engineering.​​

These pipes are manufactured using tungsten inert gas welding (GTAW) or plasma welding processes, followed by full solution annealing and pickling treatment. CL1 is the designation for Grade 1 in the A358 standard. Grade 1 encompasses pipes with double-sided full-penetration welding using full-fusion welding techniques. These pipes can withstand relatively high internal pressures. As Grade 1 pipes conforming to the ASTM A358 standard, all welds are double-sided and filled with welding metal, and undergo comprehensive radiographic inspection.​​

 TP316L pickled and annealed steel pipes compliant with the ASTM A358 standard have an outer diameter range of 6.0–101.6 mm (1/4"–4") (larger custom sizes are available), with a wall thickness of 0.5–4.0 mm (adjustable). After pickling and annealing, the pipe surface exhibits a uniform silver-gray finish, and the inner wall is smooth without oxide residues, ensuring low fluid resistance and meeting cleanliness requirements.​
