Duplex Steel UNS S31803 is a key alloy in the growing steel industry. It is composed of 22% chromium, 3% molybdenum, and 5-6.5% nickel, as well as trace amounts of other elements such as manganese, nitrogen, phosphorus, silicon, and sulfuric acid. This mixture provides high steel strength with good ductility, weldability, and superior corrosion resistance due to its duplex microstructure. Its uses are primarily found in oil & gas industry applications, including chemical tanks and piping systems; however, it can also be used in many other industries where strength and corrosion resistance are required, such as marine structures and even wastewater treatment plants.
