ASTM A240 316L tread sheet Advantages

The 316L stainless steel tread plate is a low-carbon austenitic alloy containing 16–18% chromium, 10–14% nickel, and 2–3% molybdenum, and it complies with ASTM A240 standards. Its surface is hot-rolled or acid pickled and passivated. With a tensile strength of 485–650 MPa, the plate can withstand heavy equipment loads without deformation. It is ideal for high-traction environments such as chemical plant staircases or flooring in food processing zones.

With carbon content ≤ 0.03%, the 316L anti-slip stainless steel plate resists intergranular corrosion without requiring additional heat treatment after welding. In sensitization tests at 650°C, its corrosion rate is only 1/3 that of 316, ensuring superior long-term performance. The service life is 2–3 times longer than 304 tread plates, reducing long-term maintenance costs by up to 40%. It is especially suitable for field-welded applications like walkways around chemical storage tanks or welded platforms in food plants.
