Products Description
ASTM B777 tungsten-based high-density plates (W-Ni-Fe / W-Ni-Cu) feature densities ranging from 16.85 to 18.85 g/cm³-approximately twice that of steel and 2.3 times that of lead. Offering maximum mass within a minimal volume, they are the preferred material for radiation shielding, counterweights, and high-speed rotating inertial components. With a tensile strength of ≥689–758 MPa, yield strength of ≥517 MPa, and hardness of HRC 32–35, they combine high density with high strength. Compared to pure tungsten (HRC 49+, elongation <1%), these alloys offer significantly improved machinability, allowing for precision finishing to tolerances of ±0.05 mm using conventional cutting tools. Applications include medical/industrial X-ray and gamma-ray shielding plates, aerospace gyroscope counterweights, oil drilling collars, vibration damping blocks, and hypervelocity impact protection components.
We offer all grades (Class 1–4: 90%W, 92.5%W, 95%W, 97%W) with thicknesses of 5–100 mm, widths of 25–610 mm, and lengths of 200–3,000 mm, supporting both magnetic (M) and non-magnetic (NM) binder systems. Density tolerance is ±0.15 g/cm³ (verified piece-by-piece via the Archimedes method). Each batch comes with an OES composition report, tensile test data (ASTM E8), hardness and density test results, and an EN 10204 3.1 MTC. Stock items ship within 7 days; custom orders take 30–45 days. Shipping ports include Shanghai, Tianjin, and Qingdao. We also support CNC precision machining and custom surface plating (Ni, Cr, Au).
