What is 1.4301 Stainless Steel?

1.4301, the EN designation for AISI 304 stainless steel, is a classic 18/8 Cr-Ni austenitic grade known for its excellent corrosion resistance, good weldability, and non-magnetic nature in the annealed state. With a chemical composition of 17.5–19.5% chromium, 8.0–10.5% nickel, and ≤0.07% carbon, it performs well in mildly corrosive environments such as those containing chlorides or weak acids.

What Is 2B Finish on Stainless Steel Pipe?

The 2B surface finish is a cold-rolled, annealed, and pickled surface with a smooth, dull, and reflective appearance. It is the most common finish for industrial stainless steel pipes due to its balance of corrosion resistance and cost-efficiency.
