EN 1.4835 (commonly known as 253MA or UNS S30815) is a high-performance heat-resistant austenitic stainless steel specifically designed for high-temperature applications requiring excellent creep strength and outstanding oxidation resistance. Its typical service temperature ranges from 850°C to 1100°C, with scaling resistance up to 1150°C.
The EN 1.4835 (253MA) stainless steel pipes we supply include both seamless and welded types, with sizes ranging from OD 6 mm to 630 mm and wall thicknesses up to 40 mm. All products are manufactured in strict accordance with ASTM A312, ASME SA312, and EN 10297-2 standards. They are suitable for long-term service at temperatures up to 1100°C, with oxidation resistance up to 1150°C, and a yield strength of ≥120 MPa at 900°C.

Compared with conventional 310S stainless steel pipes, 253MA offers up to twice the creep strength above 850°C, significantly extending the service life of industrial furnace tubes and exhaust systems. It is widely used in furnaces, heat exchangers, petrochemical plants, and thermal power generation.
Each batch of pipes undergoes solution annealing and pickling, along with 100% PMI (Positive Material Identification) spectrometric testing. Additional inspections include ultrasonic testing (UT), hydrostatic testing (up to 69 MPa), and intergranular corrosion testing, ensuring no internal defects under high-temperature and high-pressure creep conditions.

Can 1.4835 pipes be welded?
Yes. This material has excellent weldability and is suitable for common welding processes such as SMAW, GTAW (TIG), and GMAW (MIG).
Welding Consumable Recommendation: To ensure the heat resistance of the weld, it is strongly recommended to use a matching 253 MA dedicated welding consumable.
Preheating/Postheating: Preheating is usually not required, but interpass temperature should be controlled to prevent overheating.
Why choose 253MA instead of 310S (1.4845)?
253MA is generally considered a high-performance alternative to 310S. Above 850°C, the allowable stress of 253MA is typically twice that of 310S. The addition of rare earth elements makes it more resistant to oxide scale peeling than 310S. Its price fluctuates relatively less and is generally more cost-effective.
