Leave a message
1.4404 (AISI 316L, X2CrNiMo17-12-2): is an austenitic stainless steel, also known as V4A steel, known for its excellent corrosion resistance (PREN values 23.1 to 28.5).
Corrosion resistance: Due to the addition of molybdenum, its corrosion resistance is better than that of 1.4301 and 1.4307 austenitic stainless steels, so it is often used in the food industry.
Key characteristics of 1.4404 stainless steel plate
Temperature range: The material also resists intergranular corrosion at temperatures up to 300°C, but is not resistant to salt and seawater. The tensile strength is 500 to 700 N/mm², the hardness is ≤215 HB, and the density is 8.0 kg/dm³ (at 20°C).
Temperature application: Temperatures up to 550°C can be used and it is also suitable for cryogenic environments.
Processability: It has very good weldability and forgeability, but the mechanical properties and processability are medium.
Magnetic properties: Not magnetic, only very weakly magnetizable.
Processing methods: Suitable for cold drawing, cold forming and cutting, also suitable for polishing.

AISI 316L 1.4404 austenitic stainless steel physical properties

1.4404 stainless steel high temperature resistant plate can be used for a long time at temperatures up to 870°C (1600°F). Although its heat resistance is not as good as some high temperature alloys, it performs well in common industrial environments. It is suitable for food processing, chemical equipment and some high temperature structural applications, with high oxidation resistance and thermal fatigue resistance.
