ASTM A213 Standard
The ASTM A213 standard is mainly used for ferrite and austenite alloy steel seamless pipes used in equipment such as boilers, superheaters, and heat exchangers. These steel pipes are usually used in high temperature and high pressure environments, so they need to have good heat resistance and mechanical properties.
ASTM A269 Standard
The ASTM A269 standard is applicable to seamless and welded austenitic stainless steel pipes for general use. This standard of stainless steel pipes is usually used in general industrial and commercial applications such as shipbuilding, seawater treatment, and pressure vessels. A269 standard stainless steel pipes require high precision and cleanliness of the inner and outer surfaces, and are often used in gas pipelines, medical and other fields.
Material requirements
ASTM A213: Austenitic stainless steel, such as 304 and 316, is usually used. It is suitable for high temperature and high pressure environments and has strict requirements on the purity and mechanical properties of the material.
ASTM A269: It also uses austenitic stainless steel, but pays more attention to surface quality and precision, such as BA-grade bright annealed tubes, which are suitable for occasions with high requirements for cleanliness and smoothness.
Production method
ASTM A213: The main production method is cold drawing or hot rolling, which is suitable for high-pressure equipment manufacturing.
ASTM A269: The production method includes cold processing and welding, focusing on surface treatment, such as bright annealing, which is suitable for application scenarios with high surface quality requirements.
Specific application examples
ASTM A213: Commonly used in exhaust manifolds and branch pipes of aircraft engines, hot gas pipes of turbo compressors, etc.
ASTM A269: Commonly used in gas pipelines, medical and other fields, because its high precision and smoothness meet the requirements of these fields.
