What is ASTM A249 standard?

ASTM A249 standard specification covers boiler and heat exchanger tubes designed with stainless steel. Common grades include TP304, TP309S, TP310S, TP316, and TP321, suitable for high-temperature environments such as superheaters and reheaters. Typical tube sizes and wall thicknesses are: inner diameter 3.2 mm to 12 inches (outer diameter 304.8 mm), wall thickness 0.015 to 0.320 inches (0.4 to 8.1 mm, inclusive). Other sizes are available, provided that such tubes meet all other requirements of this specification.

 

What is ASTM A249 Material Grades?

What is the difference between ASTM A249 and A213?
