What is ASTM A269 TP304 pipe?
ASTM A269 TP304 pipe refers to stainless steel pipe of nominal wall thickness grade 304, conforming to the American Society for Testing and Materials (ASTM) A269 standard, for general corrosion resistance and low- or high-temperature service. TP304 refers to grade 304 austenitic stainless steel. This pipe, which includes standard seamless and welded constructions, offers excellent corrosion resistance and is commonly used in industries such as food processing, chemicals, pharmaceuticals, and heat exchangers.
ASTM A269 grade TP304 pipe supplied to this specification is typically available in sizes and thicknesses less than 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) inside diameter or with a nominal wall thickness less than 0.020 inch (0.51 mm) and with a wall thickness greater than 0.020 inch (0.51 mm). If specified on the order, the average wall thickness is used. ASTM A269 TP304 seamless stainless steel pipe of other diameters is available, provided that such pipe meets all other requirements of this specification.
