Astm A376 Acid-resistant Pipe is a low-carbon, higher molybdenum austenitic stainless steel. It also has higher nickel content than stainless steel grade 376. This alloy has been designed to resist corrosion due to sulfuric acid compounds. It possesses good corrosion resistance coupled with good mechanical properties and fabricability.
Astm A376 Acid-resistant Pipe covers seamless austenitic steel pipe intended for high-temperature central-station service. All pipes shall be furnished in the heat-treated condition unless the order specifically states that no final heat treatment shall be applied. Tensile tests, hydrostatic test, nondestructive electric tests, ultrasonic tests, eddy-current tests, tension tests, and flattening tests shall be made to conform to the requirements specified.
