Which of 409, 410, and 430 stainless steel is more suitable for drawing and welding?

409, 410 and 430 are all stainless steel materials, suitable for different application scenarios. Generally speaking, these materials can be used for stretching and welding, but the degree of applicability may vary.

409 stainless steel bar is mainly used in automobile exhaust systems and some high-temperature applications. It has good corrosion resistance and thermal cycling performance. Its tensile and welding properties are also relatively good, suitable for some environments that require high corrosion resistance.

410 stainless steel bar is a well-known martensitic stainless steel, often used to make knives and mechanical parts. It has high hardness, relatively large brittleness, and relatively low plasticity and ductility. Therefore, its adaptability in stretching and welding may be relatively poor.

430 stainless steel bar has good corrosion resistance and is mainly used in low-demand applications such as interior decoration and kitchenware. Its tensile and welding properties are average, suitable for some light strain and general welding scenarios.
In summary, from the perspective of tensile and welding properties, 409 stainless steel may be more suitable for stretching and welding, while 410 and 430 may be less adaptable in this regard.
