Mirror polishing process and standards
Polishing method
Mechanical polishing: grinding by cloth wheel or sand belt step by step (such as #500-#3000 mesh), the surface roughness can reach Ra0.1-0.2μm, suitable for simple shapes.
Electrolytic polishing (EP): electrochemical dissolution removes microscopic protrusions, the surface is more uniform, Ra≤0.05μm, suitable for complex pipe fittings.
Chemical polishing: acid corrosion leveling, low cost but poor brightness, ventilation treatment is required.
