Stainless steel 310 datasheet

What is 310 stainless steel made of?

310 is an austenitic stainless steel, specifically a heat-resistant alloy known for its high-temperature performance and excellent oxidation resistance. It contains approximately 25% chromium and 20% nickel, making it suitable for applications at temperatures up to 2100°F (1150°C).

What is the difference between 310 and 310S stainless steel?

310 plate contains no more than 0.25% carbon while 310S contains at most 0.08% carbon. 310H stainless steel is comprised of between 0.04% and 0.1% carbon. 310, 310S and 310H stainless steel plate all contain 2.0% manganese, 0.045% phosphorous and 0.30% sulfur.

Is SUS310S better suited for high-temperature environments than SUS304?

Yes, SUS310S is better suited for high-temperature environments than SUS304. This is because SUS310S has a higher nickel content than SUS304, allowing it to withstand temperatures up to approximately 900°C and exhibiting excellent resistance to high-temperature oxidation. SUS304, on the other hand, has relatively lower high-temperature resistance and is generally suitable for environments below approximately 800°C.

What is the difference between 309 and 310 steel?
Stainless Steel 309: It is suitable for high-temperature applications, but not as high as Stainless Steel 310. It has a maximum operating temperature of around 980°C (1800°F). Stainless Steel 310: It is specifically designed for high-temperature applications and can withstand temperatures up to 1150°C (2102°F).

What is the maximum temperature resistance of SUS310S?

The maximum temperature resistance of SUS310S is around 1100°C, but in practical applications, long-term use and strength requirements should be considered. For long-term service, it is recommended to keep the temperature below 800°C and the strength at 800°C not exceeding 33.3887 MPa.

Is SUS310S magnetic?

No, SUS310/310S is austenitic stainless steel and is not magnetic in the annealed state.

Is SUS310S easy to weld or machine?

Yes, but due to its high nickel content, preheating and the use of suitable welding wire are recommended.

What is the price of SUS310S stainless steel?

The market price is typically between $5.50 and $7.20 per kilogram, depending on the thickness, size, and order quantity.
