What is Super Duplex 2507 material?
Super Duplex 2507, also known as UNS S32750, EN 1.4410 and X2CrNiMoN25-7-4, is a high-alloy duplex stainless steel designed for severe chloride-containing and highly corrosive environments. Its dual austenitic-ferritic microstructure combines the high mechanical strength of duplex stainless steel with excellent resistance to pitting, crevice corrosion and chloride stress corrosion cracking.

Super Duplex 2507 Chemical Composition
The combination of Cr-Mo-N is particularly important for corrosion resistance, while nitrogen also contributes to strength and helps maintain the duplex microstructure. Published 2507 datasheets commonly specify approximately 25% Cr, 7% Ni, 4% Mo and 0.3% N.

SAF 2507 Application
Oil & Gas Industry: Subsea pipelines, Xmas trees, manifold systems.
Desalination Plants: High-pressure RO-piping and seawater pumps.
Chemical Processing: Vessels and piping for organic and inorganic acids.
Marine Engineering: Propellers, shafts, and rudder components.
Pollution Control: Flue gas desulfurization (FGD) systems.

2507 vs 2205: Which Grade Should Buyers Choose?
Choose Duplex 2205 if the following conditions apply:
Chloride levels are moderate (<1,000 ppm); operating temperatures remain below 250°C–300°C; and budget optimization and ease of fabrication are primary considerations.
Choose Super Duplex 2507 if the following conditions apply:
The application involves direct contact with seawater, subsea pipelines, or desalination systems; high-velocity abrasive slurries or harsh sour gas (H₂S) environments are present; or failure or downtime caused by localized corrosion would entail extremely high costs.
Is 2507 better than 316L?
While 316L is a general-purpose stainless steel, it may not be the most economical choice for harsh chloride environments. 2507 steel contains approximately 25% chromium (Cr) and 4% molybdenum (Mo), representing a significantly higher level of alloying than 316L. Under specific test conditions, the corrosion rate of this material in 10% formic acid and 50% acetic acid is less than 0.05 mm/year, whereas the comparative corrosion rate for ASTM 316L in similar tests exceeds 0.2 mm/year. These data pertain only to specific tests and should not be interpreted as a general prediction of actual service life.
What is the difference between S32750 and S32760?
S32750 (SAF 2507, F53) and S32760 (Zeron 100, F55) are both high-strength super duplex stainless steels with a 50/50 ferrite-austenite microstructure and a PREN > 40. The main difference is that S32760 contains controlled additions of copper (0.5–1.0%) and tungsten (0.5–1.0%) to further boost resistance to specific acids and localized crevice corrosion.
What certificates should I request when buying 2507?
For industrial procurement, a Mill Test Certificate (MTC) according to EN 10204 3.1 is commonly requested. Depending on the project, buyers may also require third-party inspection, PMI, ultrasonic testing, hydrostatic testing, impact testing or other specified inspections.
What information is needed to get an accurate 2507 price?
Provide UNS S32750, product form, ASTM/EN standard, dimensions, quantity, surface finish, heat-treatment condition, testing/certification requirements and destination. For export orders, FOB/CIF/CFR/DDP terms should also be specified.
