Is 304 stainless steel food grade?

Is 316L better than 304L for food processing?
316L generally provides better resistance to chloride-containing environments because of its molybdenum content. However, 304L may be more economical and fully adequate for many food-processing applications.

 

What is the best stainless steel for food processing?
