What is the production and forming process of stainless steel elbow?

The main difference between stainless steel elbows and carbon steel elbows is the material difference. The chemical composition contained in them will keep the surface of the elbow from rusting and corrosion for a long time. in the piping system. So everyone knows what is the production and forming process of stainless steel elbow?

Stainless Steel Bend

SS Elbow

The commonly used method for forming stainless steel elbows is the push bending forming process. Push bending is a common bending method for bending stainless steel pipe fittings, and is mainly used for bending elbows. According to the characteristics of the process, it can be divided into cold push bending and mandrel hot push bending.

1. Hot push bending of mandrel

The mandrel type hot push pipe bending machine uses a horn mandrel under axial thrust and is heated while pushing, causing the pipe blank to undergo circumferential expansion and axial bending deformation, thereby bending the smaller diameter pipe. The blank is pushed into a larger diameter elbow.

2. Cold push bending

The bending device is used to push the bent tube blank on an ordinary hydraulic press or crank press. The stainless steel straight tube blank is pressed into a mold with a bending cavity at normal temperature to form a stainless steel elbow.
