Characteristics of ferrite

1. Good plasticity:

Ferrite has good plasticity, that is, it is easy to deform, because there are a large number of slip surfaces in its crystal structure, which makes the crystal easy to slip under the action of external forces, thus forming plastic deformation.

2. Corrosion resistance: Ferritic stainless steel has good corrosion resistance and can resist corrosion from various media such as atmosphere, fresh water, sea water, acid, alkali and so on.

3. Toughness: Ferritic stainless steel has high toughness and can still have good ductility and plasticity at lower temperatures.

4. Weldability: Ferritic stainless steel has good weldability and can be processed and manufactured using a variety of welding methods.

Ferrite is not a separate material, it is just a form of crystal structure. In steel, cast iron and other materials, ferrite is one of the organizational structures, so ferrite can be used as a component of the material. However, ferrite alone is not an independent material.
