Classification Of Stainless Steel Pipes

Stainless steel pipes are divided into ordinary carbon steel pipes, high-quality carbon structural steel pipes, alloy structural pipes, alloy steel pipes, bearing steel pipes, stainless steel pipes, bimetallic composite pipes to save precious metals and meet special requirements, coated and coated pipes, etc. There are many types of stainless steel pipes, different uses, different technical requirements, and different production methods. The outer diameter range of the steel pipe currently produced is 0.1-4500mm, and the wall thickness range is 0.01~250mm. In order to distinguish its characteristics, steel pipes are usually classified according to the following method.

Mode Of Production
Stainless steel pipe according to the production method is divided into seamless pipe and welded pipe two categories, seamless steel pipe can be divided into hot rolled pipe, cold rolled pipe, cold drawn pipe and extruded pipe, etc., cold drawing, cold rolled is the secondary processing of steel pipe; Welded pipes are divided into straight seam welded pipes and spiral welded pipes, etc.

Cross-section shape
Stainless steel pipes can be divided into round tubes and special-shaped tubes according to the cross-sectional shape. Special-shaped tubes include rectangular tubes, diamond-shaped tubes, elliptical tubes, hexagonal tubes, octogram tubes and various cross-sectional asymmetric tubes. Special-shaped tubes are widely used in various structural parts, tools and mechanical parts. Compared with round tubes, special-shaped tubes generally have larger moments of inertia and cross-section modulus, and have greater bending and torsion resistance, which can greatly reduce the weight of the structure and save steel.
Stainless steel pipes can be divided into equal section tubes and variable section tubes according to the longitudinal section shape. Variable section tubes include conical tubes, stepped tubes and periodic section tubes.

Tube end shape
Stainless steel pipes can be divided into smooth tubes and wire tubes (with rebar pipes) according to the condition of the pipe end. Wire pipe can be divided into ordinary wire pipe (low-pressure pipe for transporting water, gas and so on, using ordinary cylindrical or conical pipe thread connection) and special thread pipe (oil and geological drilling pipe, for important wire pipe, using special thread connection), for some special pipes, in order to make up for the influence of thread on the strength of the pipe end, usually before the wire is thickened (inner thickening, outer thickening or internal and external thickening).

Classification of uses
According to the use, it can be divided into oil well pipes (casing, oil pipes and drill pipes, etc.), pipeline pipes, boiler pipes, mechanical structure pipes, hydraulic pillar pipes, gas cylinder pipes, geological pipes, chemical pipes (high-pressure fertilizer pipes, oil cracking pipes) and ship pipes.
