What is BS EN 10312 specifies?
BS EN 10312 specifies the technical delivery conditions for light-gauge, welded stainless steel tubes used for conveying aqueous liquids, particularly water for human consumption. Key aspects include covering sizes from 6 mm to 159 mm outer diameter, specifying grades like 1.4301 and 1.4404, requiring tests for intergranular corrosion and eddy current, and detailing external weld seam removal.
BS EN 10312 welded stainless steel pipes are used for conveying water and other aqueous liquids, primarily for water applications. EN 10312 is a European standard covering welded stainless steel pipes with tight tolerances, including Series 1 and Series 2. Welded pipes can be finished using welding, bright annealing, and polishing. We use automatic tungsten inert gas (TIG) welding for longitudinal welding. Depending on the welding conditions, solution annealing and internal and external polishing for sanitary applications are optional, often used for drinking water transport.

The above table specifies tube outside diameters and related wall thicknesses, tube standard lengths should be 5 m or 6 m, tolerances are also given, roundness is included in the tolerance of outside diameter, and the tolerance on standard lengths is ± 20 mm.
