GNEE Successfully Delivered SUH409L Stainless Steel Cold Rolled Coils to Vietnam for Automotive Exhaust System Manufacturing
Recently, GNEE completed the export delivery of a batch of SUH409L (X2CrTi12 / 1.4512) stainless steel cold rolled coils to Ho Chi Minh City, Vietnam, where the material will be used for automotive exhaust system component manufacturing.

SUH409L is a titanium-stabilized, ultra-low carbon ferritic stainless steel (C ≤ 0.03%) specially developed for automotive exhaust applications. Due to its excellent high-temperature oxidation resistance, weldability, thermal fatigue resistance, and corrosion performance, SUH409L coils are widely used in the following automotive components:
Exhaust Manifold: Designed to withstand high-temperature exhaust gases from engines, requiring long-term oxidation resistance at 800–900°C operating conditions.
Catalytic Converter Housing: Requires excellent weldability and thermal fatigue resistance to maintain structural stability during repeated heating and cooling cycles.
Muffler / Tailpipe: Provides a balance of corrosion resistance, formability, and durability for exhaust system components.
EGR Pipes and Heat Shields: The ferritic structure offers a low coefficient of thermal expansion (approximately 11.5 × 10⁻⁶/K, around 30% lower than 304 stainless steel), helping reduce thermal stress and deformation.
A typical vehicle consumes approximately 35–65 kg of 409L stainless steel for exhaust system applications. With the continued growth of Vietnam's automotive manufacturing industry, local exhaust system suppliers are showing increasing demand for high-quality SUH409L stainless steel coils with stable quality, traceable certificates, and reliable supply capability.

Export & Quality Assurance
This shipment was supplied with an EN 10204 3.1 Material Test Certificate (MTC), confirming the chemical composition and quality requirements. The tested carbon content was C ≤ 0.030%, and the Ti/N ratio meets the requirements for complete stabilization of SUH409L stainless steel.

The coils were packed with VCI anti-rust film wrapping and secured on wooden pallets, providing reliable protection against moisture and corrosion during ocean transportation.

GNEE is certified with ISO 9001 quality management system, SGS and BV inspection capabilities, and has more than 18 years of stainless steel export experience. We support customized slitting widths, surface finishes, and coil specifications according to customer requirements, with a standard delivery time of 7–10 working days for regular orders.
