Nickel-based alloys typically contain 14.0-18.0% Cr and 24.0-26.0% Ni. It is a nickel-based alloy containing titanium and aluminium, which contains enough chromium to form and maintain chromium oxides of sufficient size to protect it from high temperatures, making it more resistant to high temperatures than conventional chromium-nickel stainless steels such as 304; the higher nickel content gives it better oxidation resistance than standard 18-8 stainless, and its resistance to oxidation is no less than that of higher temperatures of up to 1,900 degrees Fahrenheit (1,038 degrees Celsius).
