Inconel 600 A nickel-chromium alloy with stable high temperature oxidation resistance. It is also resistant to chloride ion stress corrosion cracking, high purity corrosion, water corrosion and alkali corrosion. This alloy is therefore ideally suited for use in furnace components, chemical and food processing, nuclear engineering and spark electrodes.
The high nickel content of INCONEL 600 makes the alloy very resistant to chloride stress cracking corrosion, and it can maintain its high corrosion resistance in the reduced state and also has strong corrosion resistance in alkaline solutions. At the same time, because it contains chromium, its corrosion resistance in oxidizing environments is better than that of pure nickel.
