1.4162 stainless steel properties
1.4162 stainless steel is a low Ni-alloyed duplex stainless steel with balanced chemistry of chromium, molybdenum and nitrogen content to achieve good resistance to localized and uniform corrosion. The Duplex microstructure contributes to the high strength and high resistance to stress corrosion cracking. Duplex stainless steel have good weldability. Due to risk of embrittlement, LDX 2101 should not be used at temperatures above 250°C. Very price stable high strength alloy.
1.4313 Stainless steel is a martensitic stainless steel grade, which can be hardened with heat threatment. This grade is written as 1.4313 or X3CrNiMo13-4 according to EN norm and it is written as UNS S41500 according to UNS norm. It starts with 415 number according to UNS norm so because of this, some sources accept this grade also as AISI 415 stainless steel. 1.4313 material is a magnetic grade and 1.4313 heat treated according to the following three different heat thereatment contitions: QT650, QT780, QT900. The numbers 650, 780 and 900 are showing the minimum tensile MPA strenght of the materials. You can always provide 1.4313 stainless steel material from Birçelik with the highest strenght level of QT900. Because of high strenght, AISI 415 usually used in chemical industries and pump shafts. If there is a high degree, 1.4313 grade will be not so appropriate.
