1.4539 Physical Properties
1.4539 stainless steel is a non-stabilized austenitic stainless steel with low carbon content. This high alloy stainless steel is added with copper to improve its resistance to strong reducing acids, such as sulphuric acid. The steel is also resistant to stress corrosion cracking and crevice corrosion. Grade 904L is non-magnetic, and offers excellent formability, toughness and weldability.
1.4162 stainless steel has excellent corrosion resistance, equal to traditional duplex grades, as well as very high strength. It also has very high resistance to chloride stress corrosion cracking.In suitable applications LDX2101 can be used in place of austenitic grades 304/304L, 316/316L/316Ti without cost penalty, in fact often with a cost saving, provided that redesign takes places to exploit the high strength of LDX 2101.
