Monel Alloy 400 Tube is a nickel-copper based alloy. The nickel-copper solid solution structure gives it high strength, seawater corrosion resistance and resistance to various acids (such as hydrochloric acid and hydrofluoric acid).
The corrosion resistance in hydrofluoric acid and hydrochloric acid is far better than 316 stainless steel, but the cost is higher. Monel 400 seamless tube performs slightly worse than C276 in strong reducing acid, but the price is lower and it is suitable for moderate corrosion scenarios.
