1.4028 is a martensitic grade of 420 stainless. It is a general purpose, free machining version of 420 stainless steel. Magnetic, hardenable with rust resistant properties. 1.4028 stainless is characterised by having a 0.26-0.35 carbon, and 12-14% chromium content.
1.4034 Stainless steel seamless tubes are made from solid billets and processed in the center and outside of the billets to form standard gauge tubes. This process does not include any welding, so historically, seamless pipes have better pressure resistance than welded pipes.
