Boasting a Pitting Resistance Equivalent Number (PREN) of ≥34, their corrosion resistance against sulfuric acid, high-chloride seawater, and flue gas desulfurization (FGD) media far surpasses that of standard 316L. With a minimum tensile strength of 490 MPa and an elongation of ≥35%, their long-term service life is extended by over 65% compared to ordinary 304 stainless steel.
ASTM A213 TP904L stainless steel tubes undergo solution annealing at temperatures between 1095°C and 1140°C, followed by rapid water quenching or forced-air cooling. This process fully dissolves carbides, effectively prevents intergranular corrosion during welding, stabilizes the Brinell hardness at ≤215 HBW, and minimizes the risk of intergranular degradation. Additionally, our 904L stainless steel heat exchanger tubes feature a surface roughness of Ra 1.6–3.2 μm and withstand 1,000 hours of neutral salt spray testing with zero pitting or rust spots. They are ideally suited for high-corrosion applications, including shell-and-tube heat exchangers, seawater desalination, chemical pickling units, and U-tube bundles.
