The main issue with welding stainless steel alloy is that they are susceptible to intergranular corrosion. However, the exception for such conditions is the use of heat resisting steels such as Stainless Steel 321 Seamless Pipe. An austenitic alloy, grade 321 is stainless steel that is stabilized by the inclusion of titanium in its chemistry.. Therefore welding at high temperatures is not conducive to the aforementioned grades. But in the case of titanium stabilized ASTM A312 TP 321 Stainless Steel Pipes, titanium will form titanium carbide, which in no manner hinders welding.
