What is ASTM A269 material?

ASTM A269 Seamless Stainless Steel Tubing is used for low temperature and high temperature services. These pipes could be made from austenitic steel types under electric resistant weld, electric fusion weld or seamless cold drawing mechanisms. The SA269 Tubing can also have different finishes and can be heat treated.

 

What is A269 TP316L material pipe?

ASTM A269 TP316 is a seamless, welded austenitic steel with a nominal wall thickness designed for use with 316 austenitic stainless steel. ASTM A269 TP316 pipe is composed of a high-quality 16% chromium, 10% nickel, and 2% molybdenum alloy. ASTM A269 TP316L pipe is available with bright annealed (BA) and polished finishes for general corrosion resistance and low- or high-temperature applications.

Applications

According to ASTM A269, pipe sizes and thicknesses meeting this specification are typically 1/4 inch (6.4 mm) inside diameter and larger, with a nominal wall thickness of 0.020 inch (0.51 mm) and larger. Custom sizes are available upon request.
Seamless Pipe
ASTM A213/A269 is a dual-certified standard for seamless stainless steel pipe. These seamless pipes are manufactured from stainless steel billets through cold rolling and cold drawing processes to the required dimensions. Air heat treatment and bright annealing are also available.
Welded Pipe
ASTM A269/A249 is a dual-certified standard for welded stainless steel pipe. These pipes are manufactured from strip and wire rod, with the strip edges welded together using TIG welding and then bright annealed to achieve a bright finish.
