What is the ASTM A276 Specification?
ASTM A276 is a standard material specification covering hot-finished and cold-finished stainless steel bars and shapes. It establishes strict requirements for chemical composition, mechanical properties, dimensions, and surface conditions used in general corrosion-resistant and high-temperature service environments.
ASTM A276 904L Stainless Steel Bar Supplier
As a professional supplier with more than 18 years of experience in the stainless steel industry, GNEE provides a one-stop solution for the full range of ASTM A276 904L stainless steel bars. With over 2,000 tons of regular stock and a delivery time of 7–15 days, our products are exported to more than 50 countries worldwide, meeting the requirements of highly corrosive projects such as chemical desulfurization, seawater desalination, and pharmaceutical equipment.
Our ASTM A276 904L stainless steel bars include round bars, square bars, and hexagonal bars, with common diameter ranges from 6–500 mm and customizable lengths according to customer requirements. Tolerances can reach h8/h9 grade. Available surface finishes include black hot rolled, pickled, bright cold drawn (Ra ≤0.8μm), and polished finishes. The standard delivery condition is solution annealed, ensuring uniform chemical composition, eliminating processing stress, and maximizing corrosion resistance performance.

In boiling 40% CaCl₂ solution, the material remains crack-free after 1,000 hours of testing. Mechanical properties are stable after solution annealing, with tensile strength ≥490MPa, yield strength ≥220MPa, elongation ≥35%, and hardness ≤90HRB. It also offers excellent weldability and machinability. The ultra-low carbon design prevents intergranular corrosion after welding, eliminating the need for post-weld heat treatment. For cold working with a deformation rate of ≤30%, intermediate annealing is not required.

IS SS 904L round bars magnetic?
They are completely non-magnetic. Due to its exceptionally high nickel content, 904L maintains a fully austenitic structure in any condition-even after cold working-making it entirely non-magnetic. This makes it suitable for use in precision instruments that require protection against electromagnetic interference.
ASTM A276 Type 904L Stainless Steel Bar Price
ASTM A276 Type 904L stainless steel bar generally costs between $1.30 and $4.50 per kilogram in bulk raw material, or roughly $1,500 to $3,000 per metric ton. Retail or custom-cut quantitiesfrom specialty suppliers can increase the price, ranging from $11 to $19 per kg depending on the origin.

High-Quality Seafreight Packaging
All materials are strictly packaged in IPPC (ISPM 15) certified, seaworthy wooden crates, each with a maximum load-bearing capacity of 2,500 kg. Every bar (ranging in diameter from Ø2.0 mm to Ø500 mm) is encased in a 100μm-thick PE protective sleeve to completely eliminate mutual friction and surface abrasion between the bars.
The bar bundles are reinforced every 800 mm using high-tensile-strength galvanized steel strapping and are additionally supported by nylon lifting slings at their balance points to effectively prevent mechanical deformation.
