ASTM A778 TP321Annealed Pickled Stainless Steel Welded Pipe
Leave a message
ASTM A778, the standard specification for welded pipe, covers straight and spiral butt-welded unannealed austenitic stainless steel tubular products suitable for low- to moderate-temperature and corrosive service without corrosion-resistant treatment. The tubular products shall be made from flat-rolled plate, coil, or plate using the shielded arc welding process.
Our ASTM A778 TP321 annealed pickled stainless steel welded pipe is corrosion-resistant and welded from titanium-stabilized stainless steel strip (specifically, grade TP321). The "annealed pickled" finish is a heat treatment and surface treatment that enhances corrosion resistance. TP321 SS pipe is suitable for low- to medium-temperature applications, particularly where corrosion resistance is required after welding. However, it is not suitable for high-pressure applications requiring post-weld heat treatment or radiographic inspection, especially those not subject to high stresses or temperatures up to 1500°F (750°C). If post-weld heat treatment or radiographic inspection is required, choose seamless ASTM A312/A358.

ASTM A312 Vs ASTM A778
A778 is suitable for small bore thin walled piping applications and A312 is used for large bore and higher pressure
ASTM A778 and A312 Pipes are available in schedule 5S, 10S, 40S, 80S, STD and XS in wall thickness (WT)
A778 Fabrication is better compared to ASTM A312
