301ln VS. EN 1.4318 stainless hollow section: What’s the difference?
Leave a message
EN 1.4318 stainless hollow section is an ultra-low carbon austenitic stainless steel, also known as 301LN stainless steel. It has good low temperature strength and corrosion resistance among stainless steels. After quenching, the performance of this steel is further optimized.
The quenching process is to heat the steel to a critical temperature and then cool it rapidly to change the crystal structure and hardness of the steel. For 1.4318 steel, the quenching process can improve its tensile strength and hardness, increase wear resistance and corrosion resistance.

301LN hollow section application
301LN is widely used in the automotive industry (such as exhaust systems and decorative parts), chemical industry (such as pipes, containers, pumps, valves), construction industry (such as decorative strips, curtain walls, structural parts), household appliances (such as washing machines, refrigerators, microwave ovens), aerospace (such as aircraft interior decoration parts, engine parts) and food processing industry (such as food processing equipment and storage containers).

1.4318 stainless steel has good corrosion resistance, but it may still corrode in strong corrosive media. In addition, due to its low carbon content, intergranular corrosion may occur. Therefore, it is necessary to pay attention to the pretreatment and post-treatment of steel during use to avoid corrosion problems.
