1.4301 stainless steel processing and heat treatment
Hot processing: Heating temperature: 1100–1150℃, avoid staying in the range of 400–850℃ for a long time (to prevent carbide precipitation).
Cold processing: Excellent ductility, can be formed by cold rolling, stretching, bending, and strength is improved after cold processing (work hardening), but annealing is required to restore toughness.
Welding: Good weldability, 308L welding rod or wire is recommended, no heat treatment is required after welding (unless the thickness is greater than 3mm, solution treatment is required to eliminate stress).
Heat treatment:
Solution treatment: 1040–1100℃ insulation and water cooling to optimize corrosion resistance and toughness.
Stress relief annealing: 250–400℃, eliminate processing/welding stress and prevent stress corrosion cracking.
