What is the difference between SS 304 and 316L chemical composition?
SS 304 is the most common steel grade with good corrosion resistance, heat resistance, low temperature strength and mechanical properties. Its chemical composition includes about 0.08% carbon and 18% chromium, and 8-10.5% nickel. 304 stainless steel is widely used in many fields such as household goods, automotive accessories, medical equipment, building materials, chemicals, food industry, agriculture, ship parts, etc.
316L (also known as the low-carbon version of 316 stainless steel) has excellent corrosion resistance, atmospheric corrosion resistance and high temperature strength due to the addition of molybdenum, and is particularly suitable for harsh conditions. Compared with 304 stainless steel, 316L contains a lower carbon content (about 0.03% carbon) and adds 2-3% molybdenum, which makes it better in terms of resistance to intergranular corrosion and chemical corrosion. 316L stainless steel is mainly used in equipment used in seawater, chemicals, dyes, papermaking and other industries.
GNEE is dominated by stainless steel products ASTM A213, with varieties including austenitic stainless steel pipes, condenser pipes, U-shaped pipes, duplex stainless steel pipes, stainless steel bars, high-temperature alloy steel pipes, nickel-based alloy pipes, nuclear power pipes, stainless steel pipe fittings, flanges, valves, etc. The specifications are Φ6-2020×0.8-60mm, Φ16-25 and the length can reach 33m. The company has 25 sets of various mechanical equipment for precision manufacturing of steel pipes, including 15 cold rolling mills, 10 cold drawing mills, and two sets of heat treatment furnaces.
