SUS304 stainless steel corrosion resistance
It has excellent corrosion resistance to the atmosphere, water, weak acid and alkali (such as food processing environment), which is better than ordinary carbon steel. Through solution treatment (quenching at 1010-1150℃), intergranular chromium deficiency is eliminated to avoid welding corrosion.

The temperature of stabilization treatment is generally between 850℃-950℃, and the holding time depends on the specific situation. Through stabilization treatment, the carbides in the steel can be fully dissolved and redistributed, reducing the sensitivity to intergranular corrosion.
What is the difference between SUS304 and SUS316 stainless steel?
SUS304 (18Cr-8Ni) is a general-purpose austenitic stainless steel with good corrosion resistance and processing performance, suitable for daily necessities, architectural decoration and other common scenes; while SUS316 (17Cr-12Ni-2Mo) adds 2-3% molybdenum, which significantly enhances the resistance to chloride ion corrosion (such as seawater, acidic environment) and high temperature resistance, and is often used in harsh environments such as medical equipment, marine engineering and chemical storage tanks. Both are non-magnetic, but SUS316 has a higher cost of molybdenum and does not require additional heat treatment after welding, so its overall performance is better.
