17-4PH precipitation hardened stainless steel

07Cr16Ni7A1/1.4542 is a precipitation hardening stainless steel, which is widely used in aerospace, petrochemical, nuclear industry and high-strength structural parts due to its excellent strength, hardness and corrosion resistance. 17-4PH stainless steel can obtain extremely high mechanical properties by adding elements such as copper and niobium and undergoing aging treatment. This article will introduce the physical and chemical parameters, common forms and processing properties of 17-4PH stainless steel in detail.

Common forms of 17-4PH stainless steel
Stainless steel plates
Cold-rolled plates: 17-4PH stainless steel cold-rolled plates are used to manufacture high-strength applications such as aviation components and chemical equipment.
Hot-rolled plates: Commonly used to manufacture pressure vessels, structural parts and other equipment that require high strength and corrosion resistance.
Stainless steel coils
17-4PH stainless steel coils are widely used in springs, fasteners, aviation parts, etc., and are widely used due to their good processability and high strength.
Stainless steel pipes
Welded pipes and seamless pipes: used in the oil and gas industry, chemical equipment, heat exchangers and other piping systems that require high strength and corrosion resistance.
Stainless steel bars
17-4PH stainless steel bars are suitable for manufacturing high-strength and corrosion-resistant parts, such as shaft parts, fasteners, etc., and are widely used in aerospace, machinery manufacturing and energy industries.

The key feature of 17-4PH stainless steel is that it can obtain high strength through precipitation hardening. Aging treatment between 480°C and 620°C is usually used to achieve the required mechanical properties. Different aging temperatures will result in different hardness and strength, and users can adjust the heat treatment process according to specific requirements.

Heat Treatment Conditions:
H900: Solution annealing at 1040°C (1900°F) + aging at 482°C (900°F).
H1025: Aging at 551°C (1025°F).
H1075: Aging at 580°C (1075°F).
H1150: Aging at 621°C (1150°F).
