The 17-4 PH (AISI 630, UNS S17400) stainless steel plates we supply are a precipitation-hardening martensitic stainless steel. This alloy is characterized by high strength and good corrosion resistance, and is recommended for use at temperatures below 300°C. Different hardness levels can be obtained through different heat treatments, and its tensile strength can reach 1100-1300 MPa. Among all hardenable stainless steels, 630 has the best corrosion resistance. In most environments, its corrosion resistance is comparable to that of 304 stainless steel and is generally superior to 400 series stainless steels.

SUS630 (17-4 PH) offers superior strength and hardness via precipitation hardening, ideal for high-stress parts (aerospace, fasteners), while SUS316 provides better general corrosion resistance, especially to chlorides (marine, chemical), due to its molybdenum content, though it's softer and less strong than 630. Choose 630 for strength, 316 for corrosion resistance in wet/salty environments.
